Counselling FAQ |
Counselling may be new to you and you may wonder what happens and what things to consider. Hopefully this will help you. I am always happy to answer any questions you may have. Give me a call! |

Counselling is a wonderful process of discovery, authenticity, change, healing, growth and hope. By talking about your concerns and goals, you can begin to move forward toward your aspirations. |
The counsellor is there to listen carefully and non-judgmentally, provide feedback, explore options, help you to improve coping abilities and stress management skills and improve your overall emotional well-being. |
Many counsellors do not use hypnosis at all—because I have specialized training in hypnosis, I often use it. If you have a preference about using it, I will certainly honour that choice. |
It is important for your own sense of safety that you choose a credible counsellor. There are many types of counsellors with different backgrounds such as Social Workers, Psychologists, and Psychotherapists. Ensure that the counsellor is registered with their respective college and is in good standing. I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. |
My fees are $150 for the initial session which is up to two hours and $100 for every session afterward that is up to an hour. HST is included. You can pay by cash, debit or Visa. If you have private insurance or group insurance through your work, check to see if a Social Worker is covered, the dollar limit of the coverage and whether you need a doctor’s referral. If your issue is related to a Motor Vehicle Accident, your insurance company may pay for services of a Registered Social Worker. |
